Colon Cleansing Recipes – Some Popular Ones

Friday, October 1st, 2010

There are hosts of colon cleansing recipes out there for you to review.  Some of the popular recipes are diet, enemas, juice fasts, water fasting, and salt water flush to name a few.

The diet is an obvious recipe for good long-term health.  Changing the diet means alleviating processed foods and sugars and focusing on fresh raw vegetables and fruits, nuts, legumes, seeds, and grains.  Setting up a program to incorporate these items over a period of time may seem like a good idea.  However, consider just sticking to these ingredients for a seven-day period to help alleviate cravings for the unhealthy items.  The more power you add to the change, the better results you get.

Water enemas are one of the oldest colon cleansing recipes.  The process is to insert water into the colon by the rectum area, hold it for a brief time and expel it into the toilet.  This recipe flushes out the lower part of the colon.

Saltwater flushes are recipes that simulate the enemas but use salts to assist in the flush.  Sea salt is recommended for a saltwater flush.  Also, doing this flush in the morning on an empty stomach is also recommended.

A water fasts is a recipe with the ingredients of lots of water, rest, and more rest.  Weakness will result from water fasts after two to three days.  This recipe is not recommended for anyone having a busy or tiring day.  Rest is one of the significant keys to success on this fast and if you have plenty of things to do, it is not recommended that you do this one.  Enemas can be used on a water fast to help clean out the compilation of waste and toxins.  Lastly, meditation is considered to be helpful on water fasts.

A juice fast is also a popular recipe for colon cleansing.  It is not as effective as a water fast in the short period of time, but is just as beneficial.  However, juices should be consumed in smaller doses.  There are health considerations that have to be looked at before doing a juice fast such as diabetes, high blood pressure, liver disease, kidney disease, pregnancy, ulcers, and being underweight.  If any of these issues apply to you, you may not be able to do a juice fast at this time.  Remember, consulting with your physician is an important factor before undertaking any major healthcare changes.

Vegetable juices are much more healthy when considering a fast instead of a fruit juice fast.  The sugars, though natural, may still be a problem for diabetics and affect the other conditions mentioned above.  In vegetable juice recipes, it is understood that the greener the vegetable the better the vegetable.  The greener vegetables contain more nutrients and provide more for the body to use.

There are also other recipes out there that contain manufactured ingredients.  Consulting your doctor and getting your health status, combined with the information you gather will help you make an informed decision.

Natural Body Cleanse – What Is This?

Friday, October 1st, 2010

A natural body cleanse is just what the title says, a natural body cleanse.  When discussing what natural means, the most significant thing about natural is that it does not contain any processed or manufactured ingredients.

Okay, starting with what to drink during a natural body cleanse, water is it.  The flavored waters or the waters that supposedly contain vitamins and minerals are not the natural-only thing.  Because you have added something to the water, it becomes enhanced water by these added ingredients.  To add these ingredients to the water, they must be changed from the purely natural state.

Fresh fruit is the food choice for breakfast.  Because fruits contain water also, they are very helpful in flushing out the system.  Your objective with a natural body cleanse is to use what is natural for the cleansing process.

The next step is making fresh raw vegetables the staple of your other meals and snacks.  No processed dressings or other cooked foods should be added to a natural body cleanse.  Keeping the food in the natural state helps it maintain the nutrients and fiber that your body needs to perform the cleansing.

This natural body cleanse should be done for at least a seven-day period.  Once you have jumpstarted your system by cleansing the colon and the digestive tract, you can add low-fat proteins and high-fiber carbohydrates.  These items will keep the body in the weight loss mode and keep the healthy process of cleansing consistent.

If the natural body cleanse is your method of cleansing, you must take seriously the natural part of the program.  If processed foods are added, this will impede the effectiveness of the natural cleansing.

Herbal cleansing is a process that is also considered a natural process.  The natural herbs are combined in a product that is considered a natural body cleanse.  The product is used by package direction and may provide the body cleansing that you are looking for.  The key to any product that is considered natural and packaged is the process that is used to manufacture it.  Are there any guarantees that the natural state is not changed to make the product and have it still be considered natural?

These are questions that you may want to ask your physician or a doctor who specializes in this field, a gastroenterologist.  Being informed is the key to purchasing any product that will directly affect your health.  And, even though a doctor’s consultation is recommended for any major lifestyle change including a diet change, a natural diet may be the safest method to achieve a natural body cleanse.

Hydrotherapy Colon Cleansing – Doctor Assisted

Friday, October 1st, 2010

Hydrotherapy colon cleansing is a process that should only be done with the assistance of a doctor specializing in the field that deals with your digestive tract, colon or other organs in this area.  Called gastroenterologists, these specialists are able to perform this procedure safely and effectively.

Another name for the hydrotherapy colon cleansing is colonic irrigation.  There may be other terms used relative to this procedure depending on where you live and what instrument is used in the process.

The process of hydrotherapy colon cleansing is a process whereby the colon is cleansed using an irrigation system.  Low-pressure water is used by mechanical means or by gravity.  A colon cleanser product is used in this process as well.  The hydrotherapy colon cleanse process is similar to an enema.  However, the difference is instead of using a pint of water used with an enema, the colon therapist will use gallons of water that reach up to eight feet into the colon.

There are differing opinions on the value of a colon cleanse.  Some doctors feel that the body does its job quite well to rid the body of the waste material and toxins.  Some doctors feel that there has been no true scientific evidence made available that supports the necessity of a colon cleanse.  On the flip side of that coin, however, there are doctors who believe that the symptoms of constipation, headaches, fatigue, and other symptoms cause by the clogged colon is reason enough to perform colon cleansing. Along with these doctors, there are people who have received colon cleanse procedures and testify to the relief of symptoms believed to be caused by clogged colons.

A hydrotherapy colon cleansing or colonic irrigation is said to be a very effective way to restore health to the body. Some colon therapists prefer using warm water as opposed to using cold water.  The warm water helps to relax the body.

Considered to be the number one source of causing major health problems, a toxic bowel needs to be cleared of the toxins to restore the body to health.  Removing the “bad” bacteria is imperative.  The “good” bacteria then returns to help the body self-heal.

Several treatments of the hydrotherapy colon cleanse can be a process that removes anywhere from eight to thirty pounds of fecal matter that clogs the intestinal tract. This procedure is definitely one that would require you to consult with your physician or a gastroenterologist.  Once you have your consultation with the doctor and have discussed your options along with the status of your health, you can make a decision as whether you want to have the procedure done.
